Lagoon and Glen Innes Pools are looking for experienced, casual swim teachers to assist with the delivery of our award winning learn to swim programme.

Due to the continuing growth of our award winning Lagoon and Glen Innes Pools swim schools, the opportunity has arisen for an energetic and engaging person, with a real passion for swimming and teaching to join our team, on a casual basis!

About the role

Being a Swim School Teacher at the YMCA is more than just a job, it is an opportunity to develop and enrich the lives of people in our communities and grow our youth.

Reporting to the Swim School Manager, as a YMCA Swim School Teacher you will :

  • Teach pre-choreographed classes in a professional manner to ensure a quality learning experience for all participants.
  • Deliver classes and programmes in accordance with YMCA Swim School policies and procedures and the centre’s normal operating procedures
  • Provide a positive customer experience through excellent communication with both pupils and colleagues.
  • Skills & Experience

    Experience is essential, we will provide the training needed to get up to speed with YMCA expectations, you will also need :

  • Have a nationally recognised swim teaching qualification
  • To be a competent swimmer swimming with swim teaching experience
  • Have a genuine interest in working with children
