Based in Mangere, we have an exciting position available for an Environmental Technician - Air Quality, to join our team.

As part of your role, you will help us collect accurate, reliable and consistent Environmental monitoring data and to support the provision of air pollution monitoring services to clients.

You will be using sampling systems and instruments at several sites throughout New Zealand (gas / air emissions from industrial discharge stacks and other industrial facilities like wastewater treatment plants).

This position comprises the monitoring / testing of Stack emissions, Odour emissions, Water quality parameters, Gas detection, Indoor Air Quality, Workplace Noise and Dust and other environmental parameters as required. As well as :

  • Undertaking environmental sampling at a variety of sites across New Zealand.
  • Calibration of instrumentation.
  • Environmental parameters monitoring (meteorology, noise, etc.)
  • Provisioning of sample analysis and data processing activities
  • Providing effective remote monitoring site support, including installation and decommissioning.
  • Providing effective site investigations, sample planning programmes for monitoring
  • About you :

  • You will have a Tertiary Qualification in Environmental Science, Chemistry or Engineering
  • Excellent computer literacy including good Word and Excel skills.
  • Previous experience in emission monitoring or environmental monitoring is preferred.
  • Quality assurance (ISO 17025).
  • Good technical report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel within New Zealand.
  • Minimum full driving licence (manual gearbox).
  • You will need to be physically fit to enable some lifting and have the ability to work at heights.
