The World Wide Government Service Line team plays a vital role in supporting our customers’ objectives through accelerating the adoption and deployment of Microsoft products and services as we work with them to solve their most challenging problems.

Microsoft World Wide Government Service Line is looking for a seasoned Industry Architect that has a unique blend of advanced technology skills and strategic business acumen.

This role requires both a broad and deep technology background as a core foundation but must include industry specific knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping customer business problems to end-to-end technology solutions.

The candidate must also be able to engage in senior level technology and business decision maker discussions that demonstrate their experience and deep knowledge of the Defense and Intelligence industry.

The role is a unique blend of customer presales and delivery responsibilities such as leading scoping discussions, engaging in Industry forums, and project delivery governance.

Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate and understanding of managing IP solutions in a Services environment and a passion for building and expanding on Services solutions to disrupt and benefit our government customers and partners.

Specific characteristics of a successful candidate :

  • Deep industry expertise and business insight in Defense and Intelligence
  • Mix of advanced hands on architectural experience with Microsoft technology and a strategic eye for growing and developing our business
  • App Dev experience with a focus on Dev Ops
  • Dynamics 365 solution experience
  • Extensive experience with Azure-based solutions and technologies
  • Experience with Government customers at senior levels.
  • Executive presence and discernment to win the hearts and minds of IT and business leaders
  • Ability to generate trust, form partnerships across the organization, and orchestrate interdisciplinary teams to the benefit of customers
  • Ability to lead customer ideation workshops with Business and Technical Decision Maker (BDM and TDM) audiences to build and accelerate adoption of our key industry solutions
  • Leading with IP development and reuse initiatives, harvesting standard methodologies in presales, architecture, business planning, and customer engagement.
  • Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will have the ability to combine their technical passion, creativity and customer focus to deliver great solutions to their customers and ensure they get the best out of our technologies and solutions.

    The Architect within the Public Sector Service Line organization is responsible for delivering high quality architectural security solutions and business outcomes based on the Microsoft Platform with a focus on holistic and integrated Security, Identity and Compliance Solutions.

    Demonstrating knowledge of the Domain Solutions and offerings across the entire lifecycle, together with a critical focus on opportunity management, the Security Service Line Architect drives transformational results and realizes business strategy for Industry Solutions.

    Key accountabilities include :

    Business to Technology Strategy

  • Drives and delivers strategy through leading Technology decisions.
  • Quantifies the needs of the business to achieve value outcomes, champions required methodology, captures / reuses IP and shares best practices.
  • Change Leadership and Adoption

  • Demonstrates an understanding of and is responsible for Customer / Partner Change management and adoption principles.
  • Be an Enterprise Services Role Model

  • Strong leadership of Technical Delivery teams, driving high performance and collaboration between all parts of the Enterprise services organization.
  • Technology Delivery Management

  • Drives Delivery Excellence, ensures quality customer transformation plans and solutions are delivered.
  • Drives Quality outcomes and is accountable for Governance as a Technology leader. Performs risk management.
  • Optimizing Business Results

  • Participates in opportunity management through establishing a healthy pipeline to drive & win solutions in line with Microsoft strategy.
  • Demonstrates valuable customer partner interactions, driving deep customer relationships.
  • Leads complex efforts to deliver profitable business results and maximize business value.
  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications :

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in cloud technologies, such as Azure, Dynamics, O365.
  • Five (5) years experience applying Microsoft technologies in customer environments.
  • Five (5) years operational experience with government, military or intelligence communities.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in pre-sales life-cycle through scoping, estimation and demonstration.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams of diverse disciplines and backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
  • Experience delivering results through collaboration across disciplines, feature teams, and partners
  • Experience in estimating, scoping effort, and writing effective statements of work that clearly set expectations and limit risk
  • Demonstrated excellence at presenting complex technology topics to both business executive and technical personnel
  • Must be willing to travel degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Host nation security clearance secret or higher.
