About usEducation Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, creates and supports safe, healthy, inspiring and ICT enabled learning environments.

EIS manages the Crown's second largest property portfolio of around 2,500 schools with a book value of $17.8 billion, is responsible for the largest payroll in the country, and transports over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

Capital Works is a team within the EIS, which has been established to manage rebuilding, remodeling and development of new schools across New Zealand undertaking approximately 3,000 projects a year, a combination of Ministry and School led projects costing at least $800m per annum.

About the roleThe Construction Observer is responsible for determining whether construction on a range of the Ministry's Capital Works projects have been completed according to the specified construction documents and reporting findings.

Key role responsibilities include : Risk identification, recording and mitigationProblem solving and collaboration with the local and national teamInternal and external stakeholder engagement and management.

Please note that there is further information in the attached Job Description.About you : With significant construction experience under your belt, you will be well versed with the ins and outs of the New Zealand Building Code and comfortable applying it to your day to day.

You thrive in a busy environment, managing multiple shareholders - leveraging your background of working with design and construction teams.

You are skilled at using relationships to achieve the best outcome for all stakeholders involved.Your strong technical knowledge and the ability to identify potential issues, along with appropriate mitigation methods will see you thrive in this role!Are you ready to make a difference?
