We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to help us achieve our vision. This role will be reporting to the Head of Operations & Engineering and responsible for leading culture change in safety across our business.

The role has one direct report and partners with site and functional managers. We require someone who can operate from setting strategy with leaders to coaching with factory teams.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role include, but not limited to :

  • Provide ongoing advice and guidance to managers and staff on H&S matters.
  • Supporting and coaching line managers and business leaders about safety and how they can perform that component of their role.
  • Planning, implementing, and developing strategic and practical SH&E (safety, health & environment) programmes.
  • Developing the risk management processes and system, creating reports and required ad hoc documents for the business.
  • Supporting the prevention and management of injury and illness related absence.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current trends in SH&E and using industry best practice to keep internal practice and policies aligned.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, knowledge, and experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in H&S Management an advantage.
  • Strong people influencing skills including communication, relationship building, influencing and staff development.
  • Is proactive, assertive, has a positive disposition and a high level of self-awareness
  • Strong knowledge on H&S legislation, processes, and principles.
  • Knowledge in Occupational health & safety (OHS) issues and processes desirable.
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy including SMS tool such as Vault, and typical Office tools (Work, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Familiar with databases / IT Platforms and ability to learn new systems quickly
