About the Role :

This is a fantastic opportunity for a stand out Key Account Manager, with some Sales Management exposure, who will be responsible for leading the VIP Steel sales function and delivery of agreed sales objectives.

This will be achieved through strong multi-site customer relationships, deploying sales resources and managing customer and company expectations in a manner consistent with agreed current and future targets.

Internal cross functional interaction will be important to ensure customer expectations are achieved.

Your challenge will be understanding our Customers businesses and the factors that impact their demand. Analysis & forecasting of customer requirements will be key to manage a highly volatile marketplace as well as balancing customer peak demand to available capacity.

We seek a professional and ?results-driven? person with a proven record of exceeding set sales budgets, with the ability to develop strong multi-level relationships across your customer base.

Your reputation for delivering on promises is second to none, and you can demonstrate leadership within a Team environment.

In addition, you are known for your lateral thinking, excellent negotiation and analytical skills.

The nature of the existing customer base is quite technical and your ability to quickly come to grips with the technical aspects of our manufacturing process, capability and constraints is paramount.

You will be able to work autonomously and possess business to business sales experience gained within the manufacturing sector, with ideally some experience in the packaging industry or a technical / industrial sector.

Pivotal to your success in this role is your desire to rise to challenges with innovative solutions backed by your strong technical aptitude and commercial acumen.

What you'll need to succeed :

  • Exceptional relationship and account management skills with a strong background in B2B partnership
  • Good business acumen and able to see strategic market opportunities & solutions
  • Experience in managing large customer portfolio
  • Experience in negotiating contracts
  • A technical background would be highly regarded
  • Sound commercial skills (able to build margin into the sales process)
  • Experience working with SAP would be advantageous
