Employment Support Representatives Lower Hutt

Full Time, Fixed Term various contract lengths (3 months to 18 months)

About the role

You will work with job seekers to help them take up training, work readiness and employment opportunities. The matching process involves screening, recruiting, and shortlisting candidates as well as matching job seekers from our database to vacancies provided to us by NZ employers.

You will also engage directly with clients who call through our 0800 phoneline as well as manage client employment, education and training calls referred in from work brokers and case managers.

You are confident in your ability to have a general conversation about employment and help clients who are seeking more information and help with applying for vacancies.

As an Employment Support Representative you are responsible for following up with stakeholders who are interested in our service.

Part of this involves assisting employers, training institutes and job seekers to navigate our website to find the right information.

Key to success in this role is your ability to build connections, use initiative, adapt to and flex with a changing environment.

This role is varied, fast-paced and energising. These are some examples of the types of tasks you will be completing in a shift.

Job Seekers

  • Communicate with clients to get a clear view on their job needs
  • Research into our database to refer clients to roles they are suited to
  • Develop your client’s skills further
  • Research job leads within the MSD channels to get more clients into jobs
  • Develop a sustainable client lead strategy to ensure successful placements into jobs.
  • Employers

  • Define job descriptions and take comprehensive vacancy briefs
  • Identify prospective candidates by using a variety of MSD channels for employers
  • Build long-term relationships with employers
  • Communicate with employers to determine their hiring needs.
  • Hours of work

    As an ESR you work 37 hours and 55 minutes per week over 5 days Monday to Friday. As business demands and needs change, the occasional Saturday may be required.

    You will be rostered to work shifts, usually between 7am and 6pm. We work on a no surprises basis and will ensure that you will know your scheduled shifts well in advance.

    About you

    You enjoy learning, adapting to change and building relationships with people over the phone. No task is too big or too small and you are driven to provide great service.

    We are open to people with diverse backgrounds, however experience or interest in recruitment / HR / sales is advantageous.

    We offer

    Starting salary : $46,925 to $52,446 per annum (in line with skills, experience and other factors)
