Location : Auckland / Christchurch / Wellington

Duration : Permanent Full-time

Our continued growth sees us looking for experienced and professional Senior Systems Engineers to work in our Infrastructure Operations Team.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day technical administration and problem resolution across the supported systems.
  • Pro-actively monitor the environments, check logs, maintain capacity, and provide / support monitoring platforms for consumption by other value streams.
  • Ensure the systems are secured, monitored, and backed up in accordance with CCL's policies.
  • Provide consulting services when required to other CCL Operational Teams and the wider CCL Business.
  • Maintain and update system and process documentation and ensure knowledge base articles are relevant and up to date, and available.
  • Contribute to the development of strategy and roadmap within the Storage and / or Virtulisation disciplines.
  • Participate in the on-call roster.
  • Ensure service outages are minimised, and the systems are stable and reliable.
  • Ensure change management policies and procedures are adhered to, and changes are well documented and accurate.
  • Ensure performance or functionality issues are identified, analysed, and resolved promptly.
  • Ensure security related fixes are applied in a timely manner, systems are monitored to appropriate levels and backups are performed to the required standard and frequency.
  • Ensure all systems are well supported, providing a suitable, available platform.
  • Ensure vendor support is available in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive advice is available on current and future capabilities and requirements.
  • The successful candidate will have at least five years' experience in the industry with specific skills in any of the following technologies preferred :

    Experience and Qualifications

  • IT related professional qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL foundation certification.
  • 5 years' experience within the IT industry in a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience in relevant scripting and development languages, and in automation of repetitive tasks.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience with Object Storage, File Storage or Virtualisation required.
  • Experience with the following systems and toolsets advantageous

  • VMware vSphere
  • VMware NSX-V / T
  • Ansible
  • NetApp Storage
  • Pure Storage
  • Hitachi Storage
  • Skills

  • Demonstrates excellent understand of infrastructure as code, scripting, and methodology practices.
  • Excellent process improvement and automation skills, within your area of responsibility.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent understanding and experience in automation tools and workflows.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems autonomously.
  • Experience working in highly complexity IT ecosystems.
  • High attention to detail whilst working on a wide range of support activities and processes.
  • Ability to review and implement processes.
  • Ability to identify and satisfy customer requirements.
  • Ability to produce quality documentation.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
  • Strong work ethic and able to work well under pressure.
  • Manage conflict in a quick, calm, and constructive manner.
  • Receive, prioritise, track and progress communications, to ensure timely responses are generated.
