  • our customers need to trust us with their data as they do with their money.The Technical Data Steward role understands how data is used and actively pursues the identification of critical data and the documentation of business data flows.

    They will be able to provide expertise around BNZ systems, data processes, repositories, and business intelligence tools.

    About the role : The team is expanding, and we are looking for a Technical Data Steward who has a passion for data and want help provide the management and oversight of BNZ's data assets.

    You will be responsible for the development and implementation of processes to manage data issues inherent in or caused by technology or architecture as well as the content and usage of business data.

    This includes : Provide expertise and insight around how data is procured, stored, managed, used and disposed.Work with system owners and SMEs to ensure end-to-end data lineage, definitions and business rules are documented and maintained.

    Act as a data champion. Communicate data initiatives, terms and concepts (often to non-technical audiences).Technical resource to help review change related activity associated with data, and assist is assessing impact and resolving issues.

    Represent a portfolio of IT assets.Ensure that technical metadata about assets is kept up to date.About you : You have a passion for data, excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience in providing guidance in an environment of rapid change.

    You will also bring : Technical knowledge and experience in the data domain.Strong understanding of master data management, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data lineage and reporting.

    Understand the implications of data quality issues and explain the impact that technology, organisational structure ad business practices have on data quality.

    Strong understanding of big data / analytics, artificial intelligence, data security, privacy and ethics.Analytical with a keen attention to detail.

    Strong interpersonal skills.Experience of data management and governance, preferably in the financial services sector.Understanding of data and information related regulations.
