  • About the Opportunity

    This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced healthcare or planning professional to bring their strategic and forward-thinking outlook to the table!

    This role will see you leading the process for the development of service plans for the delivery of health services in the hospital and the community.

    With changes afoot with the national health reforms, our new Dunedin Hospital, and evolving models of care, our service planning involves getting services ready for the future.

    This role will see you engaging with a range of departments, with a strong focus on communication, connecting the strategic dots, as well as providing advice and coaching to the wider organisation on planning approach, planning activities, and monitoring.

    The Service Planning Manager will also be expected to provide operational structure and guidance to the Service Planning Advisor, and support the development of plans directly, as required.

    About you

    As a natural relationship builder and exceptional communicator, you will be comfortable actively engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

    To be successful in this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following :

  • Demonstrated understanding of the layers of different strategic planning and policy environments and experience in a senior planning role or equivalent roles.
  • Commitment to application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and developing an equitable health system that achieves positive outcomes for all.
  • Evidence of providing structure in planning activities, and achieving change
  • Demonstrated experience achieving buy-in to process changes or planning activities.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage and lead multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve the best result.
  • Advanced computer skills and effective verbal / written skills.
  • Experience in health would be an advantage but is not essential. A clean class-one license is required as district-wide travel is expected in this role.
