We have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Technical Director to join our team in Auckland.

We require a motivated Geotechnical Technical Director with either a geotechnical or engineering geological background to develop business opportunities, build and strengthen our Geotechnical business through the delivery of projects, technical leadership, coaching and mentoring our people.

The team is currently full of opportunity with recent nationally significant project wins coupled with our growing core deliverables.

It will see you supported by other team leaders and senior staff across the country. The role is well rounded being both a support and technical role with the split being negotiable.

This role will see you involved in :

Client liaison and business development

Provide leadership, planning, and coordination of resources for each job including inputs with other offices, and sub consultants

Leading and assisting the preparation of investigations, reports and designs across a number of sections including transportation, water, environment (including dams and landfills), built environments and slip remediation

Providing technical input and leadership on projects including review QA / QC of project deliverables as either Job Manager, Technical Reviewer or Project Director as appropriate

Client liaison and business development

Mentoring & coaching and development of other staff

Quality assurance including preparation of high quality reports, correspondence and other deliverables

What you will bring to the team

BE Civil or BSc

Strong desire to lead people and to develop them as high performing professionals

10 or more years consultancy experience

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Technically competent and recognised as such with the ability to be proactive and take ownership of large complex projects

As project manager and engineer deliver work on time, to the quality required and within budget

Ability to nurture and develop teamwork within the group
