About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tower Operations Manager to join ourAir Traffic Services team.This is a new role which requires extensive experience in Aviation, fantastic people leadership and strong operational knowledge.

Reporting to theHead of Aerodrome Services, this role is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient delivery of Air Traffic Services in the Southern region at the Dunedin, Queenstown, Milford and Invercargill Towersto ensure thefull engagement and development of the unit controllers andcreating strong working relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

About you

Ideally you will have Aviation experience, extensive knowledge of Airport operations and Air Navigation Services and associated legislative framework.

You will be an experienced people leader,skilled at motivatingand empoweringothers to work effectively to achieve business unit, group, and organisational goals.

As an outstanding and natural communicator, you will have the maturity and confidenceto interact with people from all walks of life and your stakeholder relationship skills will be second to none.

This role at times can be complex, so we need someone with acollaborative and inclusive work style who can navigate our operational and governance landscapes.

In addition, you will have :

  • Extensive leadership experience with an ability to lead multi shift workers in a dynamic environment
  • Proven experience managing operational teams. Ideally in a critical service role or operational shift workers role
  • Previous ATC experience, ideally within NZ or other equivalent overseas location would be advantageous
  • This is a great opportunity to be influential in a new role and make it your own. This is a full-time position with flexibility on location of work within the beautiful Otago / Southland regions of New Zealand.

    Your home base can be Dunedin, Invercargill, or Queenstown. Travel will be required between all locations.
