The Procurement Services team is responsible for building overall procurement capability, the development of efficient and effective procurement practices, governance and risk management, analytics and reporting, policy, tools and master data management.
We partner with the business to really understand requirements before providing sound procurement advice and support.About the roleAs our procurement specialist you will focus on improving procurement effectiveness and the overall value derived from the procurement process for projects.
Working with the business you'll influence and lead best practice procurement across Transpower through the provision of specialist advice and coaching.
You'll apply your knowledge and understanding of procurement practices, commercial mechanisms and approaches to meet the needs of the procurement teams' internal customers and Transpower in general.
Looking past the process and determining "the why" of an activity, you'll find the most commercially sound and sustainable business solutions.
At times, you'll act as a conduit into the broader Procurement and Supply team to ensure that a seamless "joined up" procurement service is provided.
There will also be opportunities to coach and mentor others in the team as part of their professional development and support the tender co-ordinators.
To be considered, you'll be a collaborative and inquisitive team member with a track record of working with cross functional and cross organisational teams.
Your experience to date, CV and cover letter will demonstrate : Strong understanding of, and some delivery experience in, the principles of procurement including strategic planning, sourcing, category and demand managementProven problem-solving ability that gets the best value and commercial outcomes for the business while providing appropriate levels of governance and assuranceAbility to develop and influence procurement approaches and associated delivery programmes demonstrating experience in identifying sources of valueExcellent communication skills including facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolutionBroad experience in the procurement of services, products and worksWhy join Transpower?
