About the opportunity

As our Programme Manager - Business improvement, you'll be responsible for ensuring we have a 'best in class' business improvement project delivery process and pipeline which delivers optimised business results to enable Transpower's strategic goals.

You'll ensure we have continuous improvement and delivery frameworks in place, and that business improvement projects are appropriately planned, managed and resourced.

You'll deliver a transformation programme that consists of agile and waterfall project methodologies, embedded continuous improvement processes, effective governance and develop a clear 5 year transformation plan.

Working closely with Grid Development in support of the Business Improvement processes, you will :

  • Build BI project capability including optimising BI Project resources, creating visibility via pipeline and working across Transpower from a prioritisation perspective
  • Ensure relevant projects are tracked and that benefit realisation is a key part of each BI project, and that each project has clear and strong governance
  • Support growing the BI pipeline by engaging across the business and supporting the drive of a continuous improvement culture
  • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager, with Project Manager capability, to drive value for Transpower by working closely with our vendors and service providers, and our Grid Delivery, Information Services & Technology, and EPMO teams.

    To be considered, your CV and covering letter will demonstrate :

  • 10+ years of programme and project management experience with a wide range of projects including delivery methodologies
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management
  • Extensive knowledge in process improvement, system and technologies
  • Ability to manage change and to access capability needs
  • Commercial management skills including negotiating and influencing
  • Agile and waterfall delivery project management experience
  • Desirable, but not essential :

  • A general understanding of the nature and design of the electricity industry's core business processes
  • Digital transformation programme delivery experience
  • Success with automation as a process improvement strategy
  • Preferably 5-10+ years' experience in a similar role
