Māori Lead - Oranga Whakapapa

  • Reducing the incidence and severity of injuries for Māori is a strategic priority for ACC and one of the many ways we help to improve Māori access, experience and outcomes every day.

    ACC is increasing its investment in Māori focussed injury prevention activities together with implementing an ambitious Injury Prevention Strategy.

    The Māori Injury Prevention team focuses on taking a kaupapa Māori approach to implement Whāia Te Tika via injury prevention initiatives.

    In this role you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of services and programmes to strengthen mana-enhancing and tapu-enriched relationships that will better deliver on whānau Māori needs.

    Some of the important mahi you will be involved in the following :

  • Working together with the Healthy Consensual Relationships lead in a Tiriti-centric partnership to successfully plan and deliver an equitable and integrated approach to ACC's Healthy Consensual Relationship (HCR) and Oranga Whakapapa work programme
  • Working in partnership with whānau, hapū, iwi and Māori providers and communities to design and deliver a range of services for Māori whānau
  • Leading and managing project team members to support the implementation of ACC's HCR and Oranga Whakapapa business case
  • Building strong internal relationships and share information with other key business units across ACC
  • As the successful Oranga Whakapapa - Māori Lead, you will demonstrate the following :

  • Energetic, motivated and have an agile and innovative mind-set
  • A confident and courageous Māori leader
  • Experienced in Māori health and social service design, implementation, and delivery
  • Confident in your knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga with a deep understanding of Maori culture, values alongside strong Iwi networks
  • An excellent communicator with strong relationship management skills across a wide range of stakeholders, gaining their trust and respect
