What will you doAt this time InternetNZ has identified a need to increase its responsiveness to the interests of the Māori internet community, and is committed to building its internal capability and understanding of te ao Māori.
Reporting to the Engagement Director (and chief Executive where required), the Chief Advisor Māori will lead InternetNZ in delivering this capability development plan.
What we are looking forThis position would suit someone with a solid grounding and understanding of te reo me ona tikanga Māori.
Strong social research abilities, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a social-enterprise environment are all important aspects of this role.
While this role reports to the Engagement Director, the Chief Advisor Māori will work closely with the Group Chief Executive, the Senior Leadership Team and the Council.
In addition, they will have a close working relationship with the Council’s Komiti Whakauru Māori.Preferred candidates will also have a strong working knowledge of kaupapa Māori as it relates to social enterprise, and be adept at working across an organisation to enhance the awareness of cultural initiatives.
Candidates will bring a partnering approach to its engagements with InternetNZ’s stakeholders, which include Government agencies, tech sector organisations, Iwi, and other external stakeholders.
As a newly created role, the appointee will embed a culture-by-design approach in all aspects of the capability development plan.
