Analysing business requirements, creating product backlog items and working with the development team to design and implement the solution.
You will be part of a team building leading digital solutions to enable unforgettable journeys. This role requires at times to be in our Auckland central office along with flexibly to work remotely.
As a senior business analyst, you will be mainly responsible for the following :
Analyse and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications.
Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol / standards.
Convert information gathered into details including data sources, data and user types, interface components, interface navigation needs, reporting needs, and administrative system needs.
Provide a project management team with identified risks, concerns, and ambiguities discovered during the gathering of requirements;
assist the team in developing solutions.
Partner with project managers to complete requirements documentation in accordance with the project schedule.
Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups as well as oversee and execute follow-up activities.
Ensure the software development team accounts for all defined requirements in coordination with the quality assurance team.
Ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process. Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines and other materials.
Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defects.
Provide systems and application training.
Develop and execute project presentations.
Participate in the development of various regional training initiatives.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide analysis and propose change and communicate strategies.
Take an active part in SCRUM processes
Skills and education :
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Hands-on experience with SaaS.
4+ years business analysis experience, preferably in a digital, analytics, software or product development environment.
Experience in the software development process, working directly with developers testers and non-technical stakeholders in a scrum framework
Ability to establish excellent cross-functional working relationships, and deliver to deadlines in a multi-party delivery model.
Be digital savvy; demonstrating skills in partnering with customers and stakeholders to think and work creatively, using innovative methods and making decisions based on data / research or other reliable evidence.
Have great organisational skills and be comfortable in playing your role in self managed teams.
Problem solver who can take a logical, analytical approach while being customer focused.
Detail oriented, but work swiftly; balancing your focus on detail and completeness with your stakeholder's perspectives of value of the work / deliverable
Keep management and project teams informed of progress status against agreed timeframes
Escalate any issues to management that may compromise delivery
Work together with management in identifying and implementing improvement initiatives
Work closely with the other members of the Digital team to deliver agreed development
Maintain relationships with designated third party software suppliers
Attend WIP meetings with appropriate teams
