Strong interest in Identifying trends, emerging risks and system issues Work with broad and diverse internal customer and external domestic and international agencies About the role In this permanent role, you'll be part of MBIE's Intelligence Unit, providing intelligence reports and notifications that enable MBIE's regulatory systems to be administered effectively.
It is critical for this role to develop a sound understanding of each customer's business to ensure the intelligence provided either as a notification, report and / or briefing is useable in the customer's operating environment.
It's an interesting position to deliver and support some of the new and emerging work we are doing in this space. This will involve analysing and evaluating data and information from multiple sources, identifying patterns and trends, and providing briefings.
You'll be able to think conceptually, follow logical lines of enquiry and synthesise multiple pieces of different kinds of information to a coherent and useful story.
You'll work in partnership with primary customers responsible for administering MBIE's obligations to New Zealand's National Security System.
Externally, you will work with external agencies both domestic and international, for example, law enforcement and regulatory agencies, and the broader intelligence community.
Skills and experience required We're really keen to hear from you if you have : Previous analyst experience within a regulatory environment Tertiary qualification or comparable relevant experience in intelligence or regulatory enforcement Excellent analytical skills, with a problem-
solving approach Excellent organising skills with the ability to prioritise, deliver and juggle multiple tasks for a range of customers Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships A collaborative and action-
oriented approach to getting things done The ability to adapt within a dynamic environment You must be a New Zealand Citizen, or hold a residence class visa.
You must be able to gain and maintain a national security clearance. Note : Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET government security clearance.
and have resided continuously in one or more of those countries for the past 10 years prior to application, with a background history which is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a high level.
