We are looking for a Waste Minimisation Officer who can develop and deliver inspiring and engaging programmes to promote waste management and minimisation within our community and organisation.

Our ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of environmental issues, particularly in waste, sustainability and climate change, as well as a passion for creating innovative ways local government can address them.

You will be proactive and comfortable working collaboratively with a diverse range of people including Council staff, community groups, schools, iwi and various other organisations and stakeholders day-to-day, to plan, coordinate and deliver engagement and awareness programmes.

The successful applicant will have effective written and verbal communication skills, be technologically savvy and competent with social media applications, well organised and self-motivated.

Previous experience or a passion for delivering waste minimisation solutions would be ideal. You will have the freedom to make the role your own as part of a small dedicated and passionate team.
