    We have a fantastic opportunity for askilled and motivated Analyst to join the Housing & Urban Growth team. We are passionate about helping to address long-standing housing affordability and availability issues in New Zealand.

    Housing and urban growth has broad and deep social, economic, and fiscal implications - housing fundamentally affects all New Zealanders, especially the most vulnerable.

    We're a supportive and fun team, with a wide variety of experience and backgrounds.

    About the role :

    This role will support the Government's agenda for housing through a mix of commercial and monitoring work on housing and infrastructure transactions.

    The successful applicant would work with the team on assessing and providing government support to complex KiwiBuild, land and urban growth funding and financing proposals and will be expected to contribute to the Treasury's understanding of different housing and urban growth issues and opportunities for growing housing supply.

    In doing this you will have the opportunity to :

  • Apply your commercial and finance skills to support the New Zealand Government's important housing and urban growth initiatives
  • Gain exposure to a range of high-profile strategic investment programmes and initiatives
  • Regularly engage and advise Ministers and senior officials across the public sector
  • Enhance your relationship management skills by working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, and
  • Develop your analytical skills by working alongside and learning from experienced senior and principal advisors.
  • About You :

    You should have between two to five years' experience in a similar field, and be able to bring :

  • The ability to assess and progress complex real-world transactions from a financial perspective
  • A track record of providing high quality analysis to support proactive decision-making and management of risk in a commercial environment
  • Strong influencing skills including communicating complex ideas simply, both orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in prioritising and delivering in a fast-paced work environment, and
  • The capability to work well with others and bring together diverse perspectives.
