What you will do

As Project Manager you'll be accountable for managing an exciting variety of upcoming strategic projects largely based at Papakura and also across other NZDF Auckland locations.

You'll ensure successful implementation of business cases and manage projects within set tolerances as well as :

  • Work closely with key stakeholders and team members;
  • Manage key engagement with external construction and consultant partners;
  • Oversee the development, design and delivery of infrastructure and building projects;
  • Ensure forecasted benefits are realised; and
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and wider network.

    What we need

    We're looking for a positive, motivated and proactive person, with effective and professional communication skills, as well as :

  • Previous construction project management experience and skills;
  • Proven positive stakeholder relationship experience;
  • A working understanding of relevant property legislation, infrastructure planning and building consenting processes;
  • The ability to deal with complex issues using excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Computer literacy including project management tools.

    NZDF is undertaking a major regeneration programme developing the Defence Estate in order to achieve our overarching aim of delivering an integrated Defence Force.

    The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows :

    Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years , OR
  • is a citizen of, and / or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years : either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA;
  • and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

    If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
