Our Auckland office is looking for an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our Building’s team. You will be an active part of the management team responsible for the overall performance of the Structural and Building’s team.
You will have a proven track record in the design and delivery of large and complex projects where you have influenced the outcome.
You will manage a portfolio of work with a collection of clients, taking responsibility for client relationships as well as the design, documentation, and delivery of the projects.
You will be an ambassador for the Group within the market and you will develop relationships with Clients, Architects, and other key collaborators that lead to project creation.
Along with being responsible for the technical quality on projects that you lead, you will also check the accuracy of the work from other team members.
This role will involve mentoring and development of junior members of the team.
You will carry out the role of an internal project manager on projects, promoting best practice and adhering to the Groups internal management systems.
This role will see you :
Lead and manage the design and commercial management of projects.
Supervise a team of engineers and digital modelling technicians.
Develop design philosophy / fundamentals and demonstrate all round technical competence.
Be responsible for the quality, accuracy and timely completion of their own work.
Review and take responsibility for deliverables produced by Engineers & Technicians.
Have knowledge of concept design, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
Contribute to the development of fee proposals.
Manage project resources / programme.
Take a lead role in design team / site meetings.
Lead and manage the day to day correspondence with design team / contractor.
Responsible for development and production of drawings / calculations / specifications / reports
Demonstrate an ability for delivery in the 3D, BIM and Digital engineering environment.
Construct project teams from internal and external resources
About you :
Minimum of 10 years’ experience, and a chartered engineering status
Able to represent the Group at project level, with an ability to take responsibility for projects.
Ability to manage the design and construction stages of a project.
A quality portfolio of major projects that you are proud to describe
Varied building engineering experience with an in-depth understanding of structural behaviour
Experience in numerous large-scale projects (>
$100m in value).
