About the role : We are New Zealand's largest electricity and gas retailer, supplying energy through our two retail brands - Genesis and Energy Online - to more than 650,000 customer connections across New Zealand.

We also generate electricity from a diverse portfolio of thermal and renewable generation assets across the country.We're looking for a driven Procurement Specialist to support the Procurement Business Partners in undertaking end to end Procurement activities across Genesis.

You will ensure that goods and services sourced deliver value, risks are managed and best practice standards for procurement systems and processes are reached.

This is a critical role where you will become a trusted advisor on all things pertaining to procurement, and actively encouraging a strategic, commercial conversation.

Key responsibilities : Identifying opportunities and developing strategies for Procurement initiativesDrive Procurement best practice and advises on most efficient way to work with third parties including the creation and execution of sourcing activities.

Uses experience to suggest best solution delivered in the quickest time.Ensure commercial and non-commercial benefits and outcomes are maximised and risks appropriately mitigatedMaintain market and supplier intelligence to inform strategy development and decision makingCreation of sourcing plans and execution of sourcing activities including planning and negotiation of complex contracts and implementationUnderstand the risks and benefits in reviewing contracts and during negotiations, advises the business and guards contract milestonesPrepare and present recommendations for submission and approvalManage the transition and implementation of incoming and outgoing commercial arrangementsSeen as an enabler for the business for the identification and realisation of value i.

e., value can be added or savings extracted or costs avoided.Tracking and monitoring of cost opportunities and value delivery in line with agreed business plansBe an effective change agent in supporting new initiativesDrive governance and supplier relationship management with the Business Area as appropriateRelationship management with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcomesProvide advice on opportunities and educate stakeholders on Procurement activityDevelop and maintain effective relationships across Genesis to foster and encourage collaboration, to optimise the outcomes and to mitigate risksAbout you : Circa three plus years' experience in Procurement and / or purchasing within a commercial environment.

Experience with contracts and purchasing within a commercial environment.Proven stakeholder management and business advisory experience in a similarly complex multi-site organisation.

Relevant tertiary degree.You'll be action orientated, possess an inherent customer-centric approach, be flexible and reliable.

A collaborative style is key to this role, yet you'll also need to be decisive and confident to stand your ground on tough decisions, strong written and verbal communications skills are essential.
