MOSAIQ Specialist Southern Blood & Cancer Service

We are seeking a highly motivated health professional to join our service as MOSAIQ Specialist on a fixed-term, part-time basis to provide cover for the incumbent who is taking a period of extended leave.
About the Role what’s in it for me?
To effectively manage the MOSAIQ system to ensure it is kept up to date, functional and safe, whilst ensuring appropriate immediate clinical support is able to be provided to all end users.
To configure clinical / non-clinical aspects of the MOSAIQ system in collaboration with staff and to ensure existing and new software developments are incorporated.
To provide ongoing training and support to staff using MOSAIQ .
Medical Oncology and Haematology commenced prescribing chemotherapy electronically using MOSAIQ in January 2013. Implementation has been successfully completed in Dunedin, Invercargill, Balclutha, Oamaru and Dunstan.
As Southern was the first DHB in New Zealand to implement MOSAIQ we have also provided expert advice and workshops for other DHBs embarking on the implementation of MOSAIQ.
This role requires you to manage the MOSAIQ system to ensure it is kept up to date, functional and safe, whilst ensuring appropriate immediate clinical support is able to be provided to all end users.
You will also be providing ongoing training and support to staff using MOSAIQ.
What is MOSAIQ?
A Medical Oncology / Radiation Oncology / Haematology Software designed to prescribe cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer patients.
Cytotoxic treatments are extremely dangerous, life threatening if given in the wrong does or to the wrong patient
A comprehensive patient information management system (PMS)
Now a South Island-wide PMS
Promotes patient safety through better prescribing, in-built system alerts and clinical parameters
Improves safety and consistency in treatments through standardised prescriptions and administration processes
Enables clinicians to review, prescribe, dispense, treat, document patient information in a single database solution
Improves efficiency by helping the clinician to plan, order, monitor treatment
Integrates with external diagnostic, laboratory systems
Integrated Pharmacy dispensing
Integrated scheduling for efficient patient appts
Uses clinical merge fields to create letters, reports, documents
Promotes safety by connecting departments, multiple sites and networks
Is a customisable system, user friendly
Has significant reporting functionality and therefore audit capability
Dedicated resource is required to provide immediate clinical support and to configure clinical aspects of the system to ensure and sustain a safe and effective system.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have :
Up to date knowledge, and a keen interest in the oncology / haematology clinical area
Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
Be computer literate, with a broad based understanding of computer skills
Must actively participate in a Continuing Competency Programme
Have an up to date knowledge of the oncology / haematology clinical area
Be computer literate with a broad-based understanding of computer skills
Be evidence / best practice focused on service delivery
Relevant clinical experience
Experience in project work
Advanced computer skills, including use of word processing and PowerPoint.
Possess skills for the critical appraisal of research / literature searches / reviews.
