Due to Xero's ongoing growth, we are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Reliability team based in Wellington.

The Reliability team empowers other teams from across the business to improve the availability, performance and efficiency of our software products.

The foundation of our reliability strategy is to ensure teams have full visibility of emerging issues in our software’s behaviour.

We manage and develop a range of monitoring, logging and performance analysis tools for this purpose.

What you'll bring :

  • Have experience as a Site Reliability / DevOps engineer with exposure to large-scale systems
  • Have experience managing and integrating with logging / monitoring solutions such as (but not limited to) New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, SignalFX, Scalyr, Sumo Logic and Splunk
  • Have a thorough understanding of instrumentation and monitoring methodologies
  • Have experience working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Have strong troubleshooting skills
  • Be able to develop and grow the team around you through technical mentorship, and in conjunction with our people leadership and product management teams
  • Be able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical staff around the business
  • Demonstrate proficiency in automation / software tool development
