Do you love number crunching and predicting outcomes? Or are you someone who has a background in corporate finance? We are looking for two different individuals, both those who have a flair for financial modelling and others with corporate finance / investment banking expertise to join our Infrastructure Advisory team in Auckland.

Infrastructure Advisory advises clients on financial, procurement, strategic and public-private partnerships issues for large scale infrastructure projects.

You could be working with clients from local or central government or private infrastructure clients on projects that have impact on our communities.

You'll gain exposure to industries such as defence, power, housing, transport and contribute to the planning of major events.

About the Opportunity : In your role you will be responsible for :

  • Providing commercial and financial advice to clients on high-profile, complex infrastructure projects, including procurement and strategic advice
  • Reporting and presentation preparation, overseeing complex financial modelling and commercial analysis of infrastructure projects, and commercial / financial evaluations of large project tenders
  • Developing and actively managing client relationships, internal EY networks and market relationships
  • About You : We’re looking for people with the following experience :

  • An aptitude for financial modelling and a passion for reaching solutions through numbers
  • Experience working with financial models and adapting them to various industries or clients
  • Previous corporate finance / investment banking expertise
  • Ideally candidate will have a strong understanding of project finance principles and some relevant experience in these type of structures
  • Transactional / deal experience
  • Also you will need :

  • A strong interest in infrastructure; with some exposure to working in the industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and deliver quality pieces of work on client engagements
  • Commercial acumen and general commercial skills as well as some knowledge of economic or social infrastructure procurement and delivery an advantage
  • Experience gained from within top-tier professional practice, banking, corporate or government sectors and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
