  • About the Role

    As Planned Care Manager you will be responsible for leading a team enabling Southern DHB to meet its Ministry of Health (MoH) Planned Care goals across the region.

    This role will involve a large amount of liaison with key stakeholders including MoH, Clinical Leaders and Service Managers across the organisation.

    The primary goal of this position is to ensure that Planned Care is well coordinated across services and the region, there is equity in our district in terms of access and delivery and that when we commit to patients we deliver against that commitment.

    Some key areas of focus for your role will be (but are not limited to) :

  • Developing a performance focus for all teams involved in delivering patient care services
  • Facilitation of change projects related to Planned Care
  • Managing a range of projects to support improvements in areas of patient administration, production delivery and reduced waiting times
  • Ensuring consistency in data capture and reporting
  • Coordination of a range of stakeholders including Medical, Nursing, Senior Management Leaders and Clerical staff
  • About You

    This role requires an individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

    You’ll need to be highly focussed and results oriented with a positive and inclusive approach to your work. Our ideal candidate will bring :

  • Solid, proven experience in data analysis in particular working with referral systems and process improvement
  • Experience of systems development and process improvement
  • A strong leader with the ability to bring your team along on the journey
  • The ability to pull ideas together thinking outside the usual to innovate as you go
  • This permanent position can be located in either Dunedin or Invercargill, some regional travel will be required as part of the role.
