We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Lead on a 12 month fixed term basis, to cover maternity leave.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will provide leadership to the Warehouse Operators and ensure all warehousing tasks are completed accurately, without damage, and in a safe manner.

You will also ensure the operations shift team has all the tools and skills to process the range of products for which we have capability, ready for distribution, inwards good and staging.

You will be tasked with effectively planning and organising the warehouse operators over the shift to ensure good practices, employee safety and product quality are maintained at all times.

In addition, you will ensure that the operations team has a solid training plan and performance feedback system in place for each warehouse operator.

You will be someone with advanced problem solving and fault-finding abilities, who has well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and strong organisational and planning skills.

The ability to manage all aspects of the role in a pressurised environment is critical. NCEA Level 2 or equivalent qualification is desirable, as is forklift operating experience.

  • Understanding of and experience with standard warehousing practices would be helpful.
  • Previous supervisory experience is desirable, and slip-sheet experience is advantageous.
  • Computer / Scanner aptitude would be helpful, and proficiency with ERP systems is a definite plus.
  • This role is a rotating shift with 2 days, 2 nights on, 4 days off working 12 hour shifts.
