Product Specialist - Advanced Surgery, Christchurch, NZ.

Your Career at Baxter

A great opportunity for a patient focused Product Specialist to join our growing Advanced Surgery NZ team. This role reports to the Field Sales Team Leader of Advanced Surgery NZ.

You will work with key surgeons and theatre staff, providing them with a broad range of haemostats and sealants that assist in optimal patient outcomes.

We have Market leading products and a strong product pipeline are hallmarks of this exciting and innovative business area.

The Advanced Surgery division at Baxter is actively pursuing acquisitions and investing heavily to broaden its portfolio.

This territory has a strong history of achieving its targets and experienced sales professionals will be able to continue to maximise opportunity.

Within theatre, you will establish relationships with key target surgeons in a wide variety of speciality surgery to support the effective use of Baxter's Advanced Surgery products and drive growth.

You will also work closely with nursing staff within the operating theatre to ensure up to date knowledge of products is available.

Effective and accurate communication with customers is vital to the success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Establish relationships and network with all levels of clinical and management staff.

Represent the features and benefits of the Advanced Surgery products with customers.

Achieving sales quotas through the direct sale of all the Advanced Surgery products and services.

Increasing awareness and educating surgeons on the proper use of Baxter products on surgical procedures, as well as the features and benefits of Baxter products.

Monitoring sales against forecasts and determining market potential for the territory.

Supporting theatre staff in operating theatre.

Coordinating with hospital administration, supply chain management, materials management, purchasing, and pharmacy.

Identify incremental business opportunities and develop strategies to grow the portfolio.

Maintain profitability in consultation with sales and marketing.

Facilitate product presentations to induce product usage in key specialties

Identify customer needs to provide in-service product support of Baxter’s products.

Maintain accurate documentation to enhance business relationships through effective account management.

Liaise with Customer Service Team to ensure an efficient ordering process and enhance customer’s satisfaction.

Feedback market trend information to Surgical Care Business Manager.

Prepare monthly reports, including market / competitive intelligence.

Key Requirements of the role include :

The ideal background will include experience in Neuro spine / Cardiothoracic / General Surgery in Medical devices sales or alternatively Pharmaceutical sales.

Ideally you will have proven experience in the operating theatre environment and / or demonstrated success in driving sales within a highly competitive market.

Previous clinical experience in addition to your sales success will be advantageous.

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant Medical device / Healthcare sales experience within an operating room environment. (Desirable)

Clinical experience and / or strong sales experience and demonstrated success

Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships

Proven experience in the operating theatre environment and demonstrated success in driving sales within a highly competitive market.

Established relationships within hospitals in Christchurch and surrounding hospitals would be beneficial.

Strong commercial acumen.

Understanding of compliance and ethical standards.

Proficiency with CRMs and digital platforms.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Well-developed presentation and communication skills.

Proven relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills.

Strong customer focus and a passion for delivering customer satisfaction.

Account management experience with strong organisation skills and an ability to multi-task.

You will be team spirited, enjoy working as part of a small but growing team along with be able to work independently.

A positive outlook and attitude is a must have to succeed in this role.

Current drivers license and a willingness to travel.

Flexibility with hours worked required.

Intermediate Microsoft skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Ability to work autonomously with a drive and determination to succeed
