About the Role Kōrero mō te tūranga

Environment Canterbury is continuing its journey towards becoming a fully digital organisation, while ensuring it meets its legal obligations for managing its information under the Public Records Act and related legislation (e.

g., Privacy Act, Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act).

As a Knowledge Management Advisor, you provide support and advice to the business on organising information to maximise effectiveness, as well as user training and support in the enterprise knowledge management systems that we use, Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, MS Teams), and Microfocus Content Manager.

Other duties include doing quality and integrity checks to ensure the information saved there is complete and accurate.

We are looking for someone who has expertise in delivering technical and functional support to users and has proven they can provide administration support and integrity checks in the enterprise knowledge management tools and systems.

About You Mōu

Working in cross functional teams with the business, the Knowledge Management Advisors provide training, user support and technical know-how, which requires a unique set of skills.

Bring your great communication skills and analytical thinking to help solve problems, inform decision making, and thus add value to our Knowledge Management service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will have :

  • Proven expertise delivering training, technical and functional support to users with varying degrees of competency.
  • Proven ability to provide administration support for information management tools and systems.
  • Knowledge / information management experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Desirable skills :

  • A working understanding of information and records management principles and practices, including, but not limited to NZ legislation such as the Public Records Act, the Local Government Official information and Meetings Act and the Privacy Act.
  • Customer focused and collaborative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-functional customer facing team.
