Our ongoing work is wide-ranging and includes advising the Ministers of Finance and Revenue on social policy, business and international tax rules, environmental tax issues, and many other policy areas.
Our principal current focus is advising the Ministers of Finance and Revenue on the tax and social policy aspects of responding to the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 recovery.

If you join us, you will be both applying and continuing your learning while working at the heart of central government in Wellington.
You will be exposed to a variety of work that includes, but is not limited to, analysis of tax legislation and policy, supporting bills and budget work in Parliament, writing policy documents for public consumption, and presenting recommendations to senior officials and ministers.
We have a highly consultative approach to our work; we cooperate closely with other Government departments and we have good relationships with the wider tax, business, and public policy communities.
We have a commitment to strengthening Māori Crown relationships under Te Tiriti o Waitangi / the Treaty of Waitangi.
We are looking for graduates who, along with strong academic backgrounds and other complementary skills, can bring diverse perspectives to the team.
Ideally, you will have the ability to solve problems by thinking critically and conceptually, engage well with stakeholders, work collaboratively in teams, and communicate complex ideas effectively.
These roles can commence later this year or at the beginning of 2021; whichever best suits your remaining study.
