In this role you’ll create opportunities to secure profitable new business for Willis Towers Watson (WTW) against agreed financial targets.

This role requires qualifying, maintaining and developing an active database of prospects and creating opportunities to convert these prospects into new WTW clients.

We are open to considering varying levels of expertise and have several roles available. Ideally the successful candidates will be based in Christchurch or Wellington.

The Role

  • Provide accurate and up-to date information on each prospect including potential issues in their environment
  • Ensure regular and high-quality level of contact with decision makers and key influencers at each prospect
  • Identify potential clients and engage in mutual dialogue
  • Actively progress prospects through the sales pipeline towards review opportunity
  • Identify the needs of the prospect and build upon these needs
  • Define the success criteria of a review
  • Differentiate the Willis Towers Watson proposition from our competitors
  • Manage the opportunity through qualification of the review obtaining commitment to our appointment
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Client Management team
  • The Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification is ideal but not essential
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of the insurance broking industry and a demonstrated commercial acumen
  • New business experience is also desirable but not necessarily required
  • Proven ability to understand and meet a client's needs
  • You are comfortable making outbound cold calls
  • Excellent report writing skills, supported by a reasonable level of competency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with ease
  • Self-motivated, organised and self-disciplined with strong time management skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and have excellent networking skills
  • Achievement and results focussed with the ability to work to targets and meet priorities
  • Resilience when facing rejection
  • Optimistic and resourceful when confronted with obstacles
