Position Overview

The Diligent Production Operations team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineering Manager to lead the DevOps and Release Engineering teams in Christchurch New Zealand.

The SRE Manager will build collaboration between the Development, Product, Security, and Engineering teams to help expand and improve Diligent’s SaaS applications.

Diligent’s global presence reaches across 10 regional datacenters, all of which utilizes Diligent’s own private cloud. This position is fast paced and will require an experience leader.

The ideal candidate will be a sharp individual with a strong work ethic and great communication skills.


  • Is accountable for all aspects of deployment and technical operations.
  • Manage the production systems security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Manage monitoring, reporting, configuration, and deployment of builds.
  • Proactive monitoring and tracking of global system availability and performance.
  • Ensure that security policies and procedures are followed, to protect confidential client data.
  • Responsibilities include production and pre-production environments (Dev / QA / Staging).
  • Establishment of standards and best practices for continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Provide technical leadership, oversight, and promote a healthy work environment.
  • If necessary, be willing to be hands on and dive into technical details and issues.
  • Technologies include Kubernetes, Rancher Labs, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Puppet Enterprise, CentOS and Windows OS.
  • Required Experience / Skills :

  • 5+ Years of management experience.
  • Expert technical understanding of development management, deployment processes and tools.
  • Strong automation skills and prior experience with supporting a global production environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Cross functional collaboration skills and relationship building skills are a must.
  • Excellent judgement, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work and promoting a unified team culture.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to type and / or manage laptop or personal computer keyboard for the purpose of internal and external electronic communication.
  • Ability to see and hear and communicate verbally
  • Mental Requirements

  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and / or written instructions or other information
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
  • Ability to make decisions which have moderate to significant impact on the immediate team and division and stakeholders / colleagues and be able to monitor that impact
  • FSLA Status : Exempt
