The Office of Ethnic Communities (OEC) is located within the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) which serves and connects people, communities and government to build a safe, prosperous and respected nation.
New Zealand is home to more than 200 ethnic groups, and as the government s authoritative advisor on ethnic diversity, the OEC is uniquely placed to realise the potential and benefits that such diversity brings.
A Diversity & Engagement Advisor :
Key to your success will be a proven ability to work alongside ethnically diverse and inter-faith communities, to enable them to become resilient and achieve their aspirations.
You will also have an analytical mind and your customer service ethic will underpin all that you do.
You will have a professional attitude and be able to evidence :
Some travel is involved and a full New Zealand driver's licence, or commitment to obtaining one, is essential. Relevant language skills would also be an advantage.
