The opportunity :

HEB and Fulton Hogan have partnered to form a joint venture to deliver a new level of road asset management and provide a maintenance service to the Marlborough Region over the next 7 years.

To grow and support the existing operation and to plan for the future we are looking for experienced Drainage and Construction Foremen to join the established team.

The role :

This role will require you to assist the supervisor in preparing, planning and coordinating jobs. On site, you will be expected to ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard, hazards are identified, safe work practices are followed, and resources are well managed to ensure the job is run efficiently and cost effectively.

This is a leadership position and you will set a positive example for your fellow team.

Key responsibilities of the role include :

Lead and champion Marlborough Roads best practices, work procedures, health and safety, environment and quality procedures, customer relationship management on all sites.

Develop or support the introduction of new and improved methods, procedures, processes or technologies

Lead through providing clear instructions, providing timely, constructive feedback and on-the-job training and mentoring

Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and employees with a positive and friendly style

The Candidate :

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, understand the contract requirements, technical standards;

systems and processes and have the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders, delivering outstanding and professional customer service.

You will also have the following skills and attributes :

Proven ability to lead others, with a pro-active team approach

Read and understands job specifications, maps, plans and contract documents

Lead and drive Health and Safety on-site

Competent in using communication systems
