About The Role
As General Manager, Data & Analytics, you will be responsible for helping wrangle the amazing amount of data that we have as a bank, organising it in ways that create value, delivering analytics to improve decision-making and providing the creative thinking that enables constant innovation to deliver faster customer resolution.
You will have the opportunity to;
Deliver the capabilities including reporting, advanced analytics and data science to enable better decision making across the organisation;
Ensure that the bank wide customer resolution program is remediating errors at a pace that enables us to meet community expectations;
Advance our analytical capability to help deliver key insights and reporting to the business that will ensure our products are continuing to be suitable to customers;
Build a consistent bank wide advanced analytics capability leveraging our current Analytics & Customer Engagement (ACE) team as a Centre of Excellence;
Ensure that ANZ is building data assets in a way that delivers quality (assurance and modelling) that is fit for purpose;
Embed a culture of learning, empowerment, rapid experimentation, adaptability and collaboration;
Lead, mentor and coach teams (4-6 direct reports, 80 indirect reports) who are experts in their field, develop a workforce strategy that allows our people to learn and develop the skills they need and plan for the future;
Provide excellent people leadership and role model behaviours aligned to good customer outcomes, the ANZ Values and our New Ways of Leading

To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following :
Energy and excitement, you will be a data evangelist who is always looking for new ways to help others through the power of data
Strong leadership behaviours aligned with the ANZ Ways of Leading;
Experience building and leading large, diverse teams (at least 50) and in delivering outcomes and achieving results through others;
Experience in running data and analytics teams in a large and complex organisation;
Strong technical experience in data. With in-depth knowledge of how to build a data and analytics programme;
Strategic thinker with the ability to identify how to create value from data;
Strong storytelling skills and the business acumen to find the ways to get support for your projects;
Strong track record of leading an organisation through significant change, including Technology changes and positively influencing cultural change
Pragmatic problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-dimensional relationships and to influence and challenge at all levels, including the NZ leadership team
