With a current project pipeline of three hundred and twenty projects valued at approximately $850 million over the next ten years, our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) sets the standard for project delivery and reporting in local government.
Rotorua Lakes Council has a diverse project portfolio consisting of civil and community infrastructure projects as well as strategically driven programmes that include city planning, economic development and business improvement projects.
This role will :
Routinely review and assess the RLC Portfolio Project Dossier, identifying key risks and supporting senior managers to address issues as they arise
Develop and maintain dashboards for Portfolio, Programmes, Projects, resourcing and bespoke reporting
Track Council's Project pipeline and identifies alignment with Corporate strategies and LTP
Track the return on investment for each project within the RLC portfolio and provides recommendations to ensure a balance is maintained between strategic objectives and the cost of delivery
Works with finance partners to review forecasting data
Manage the Corporate Risk Register
We are looking for candidates with commercial acumen and understanding of business drivers, particularly financial investment modelling, who understand the requirements and value of community engagement and stakeholder management in early stages of project and programme initiation, and thrive on facilitating group discussions to identify underlying issues, generate solutions and gain buy-in from staff.

Te Arawa is a key partner of Council and a major stakeholder in many of our projects and programmes so a high level of engagement and collaboration with iwi will be required.
The successful applicant will need to be comfortable working in a bicultural framework, with knowledge of Te Ao Maori and te reo Maori, as well as proven experience in engaging with iwi in a culturally appropriate manner.
