With a treated water network that ranges from service connections through to 1.9m pipelines and 50,000m3 reservoirs, the role requires a dynamic leader who thrives on new challenges every day.

Come join the team as Operations Controller. We have multiple roles to fill based in either North / West Auckland or Newmarket.

What you'll get involved in :

In this role you will ensure effective and efficient delivery of maintenance and operational work, both planned and unplanned, within Auckland's treated water network.

You will need to have some flexibility to provide engineering support outside of normal hours due to the operational nature of the work we deliver.

Other key aspects of the position include :

  • Improved responsiveness in leading staff heading customer issue investigations;
  • Effective delivery of maintenance and operational programmes;
  • Develop in-house knowledge of assets to improve the way our water is delivered;
  • Provide operational support for capital works projects;
  • Liaise and coordinate with maintenance service providers;
  • Lead complex and high risk operational activities;
  • Drive condition assessment programmes.
  • What you'll bring to the role :

  • High accuracy, excellent attention to detail, be organised and highly structured;
  • Ability to recognise potential issues and problem solve quickly;
  • Tertiary Engineering qualification or experienced practitioner;
  • Possess a customer and service focused attitude;
  • Excellent reporting skills;
  • A background in water or wastewater operations;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A full drivers' licence is a minimum requirement.
