Reinsurance Advisor General Insurance
A new opportunity has become available to join our dedicated IFRS17 team, which is responsible for scoping, resourcing, planning and delivering the successful implementation of the new IFRS17 Accounting Standard for Suncorp.
In this role, you will provide reinsurance and actuarial expertise to help design and implement Suncorp’s IFRS17 solution for reinsurance across the New Zealand General Insurance businesses.
Key Responsibilities of the role will also include :
Contribute to the conceptual end-to-end solution design for reinsurance (including data, systems and other requirements) which will support IFRS17 compliance.
Support current state discovery of reinsurance including end-to-end mapping of actuarial processes for all reinsurance arrangements for each New Zealand General Insurance business and identify reinsurance data & systems used to support financial reporting.
Work closely with the business and technology teams to explore / develop sustainable solutions for reinsurance involving systems, data warehousing capabilities, etc.
Work closely with NZ actuarial teams to understand the reinsurance data which feeds into actuarial valuation work and redesign for requirements to support IFRS17 compliance.
Contribute to the design of an integrated end-to-end Finance, Reinsurance and Actuarial operating model, to provide strategic uplift to the Finance & Actuarial community;
and help drive socialisation of this target operating model across NZ General Insurance entities
Conduct process design / redesign activities for the IFRS17 reinsurance stream and assist with development of implementation and change management plans
Assist in process of agreeing scope of delivery by entity
Be able to take a high-level / strategic view of the NZ GI reinsurance workstream.
Work with a wide-ranging stakeholder base and build long-term business relationships.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience :
Experience in general insurance
Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or similar)
Reinsurance experience, particularly with respect to the handling of accounting / financial reporting procedures for reinsurance and familiarity or broad understanding of reinsurance data / systems / processes desirable
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to learn and apply Agile project management methodologies
Ability to think, interpret, analyse and problem solve
