Our Supervisor ranger role in Haast is vacant. We are looking for a person to lead a small team of up to three rangers to undertake our recreation, tourism and historic work programme in the area.
The successful applicant will be a natural leader and collaborator, who enjoys the challenge of working in an isolated area with responsibility for a large and diverse work programme.
but also includes a range of front country sites like Ship Creek.
This Ranger position is pivotal to the operations of the DOC team in South Westland. We are looking for someone who is a great team player, good communicator, with loads of initiative to get out and get things done.
This position is critical to leading and achieving our work in the field, so a strong practical skill set is necessary. You should be good with maintenance and care for small plant and machinery, have good building / carpentry skills and an eye for detail to ensure all our assets are maintained to a high standard.
You will need to be able to live and work in a remote rural community and have a positive can-do attitude. If this sounds like you apply now.
A full, clean driver licence and experience with trailers is essential.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
