An excitingleadership opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, strategically focussed andexperienced Occupational Therapist.

The successfulcandidate will ideally also hold a clinical role alongside this role.

This 16 (or 24) hour per week (permanent) positionwill support the Director of Allied Health delivering professional leadershipfor Occupational Therapists and supporting high quality & safe client andpatient care across the Mental HealthAddictions & Intellectual Disability Service 3DHB (MHAIDS) of which spansthree DHBs -

Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB’s and includeslocal, regional, and national services. You will provide specialist advice on specified workforce priorities that willenhance the delivery of effective health services to our population and provideprofessional leadership for Occupational Therapists across the range ofservices.

The role can be extended to alsoprovide leadership to Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Family Therapists, Drugand Alcohol Practitioners in MHAIDS.

You willhave exceptional relationship, leadership and communications skills & willbe able to facilitate strong teamwork amongst all groups of clinical staff,support interdisciplinary practice and work collaboratively with otherProfessional Leaders and Managers and other related positions within the MentalHealth, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service and Capital Coast DHB.

As the successfulapplicant you will :

  • Hold acurrent Occupational Therapy annual practicing certificate
  • Have advanced clinicalexperience and knowledge from working in the Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Sector, preferably withboth inpatient and community experience.
  • Havedemonstrated successin developing staff
  • Have taken on leadership tasks or training
  • Operated within a complex environment, including meeting the needs ofmultiple competing demands at the same time
  • A commitment to contribute research andinnovation & contribute at a strategic level
  • The ability to command the respect ofcolleagues & support staff
  • Be actionfocused
  • Be preparedto drive and support others with change
