We are a Ministry with a commitment to putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do and say. We have opportunities available for people to join our casual pool of youth workers at our Whakatakpokai Residence to help mentor and support young people.
Whakatakapokai is a residential unit focused on achieving positive change in the lives of vulnerable rangatahi. Our team is dedicated to improving outcomes for those in our care and helping them realise their potential.
As a Youth Worker you facilitate the integration of rangatahi back into the community by successfully delivering innovative program’s including education, therapeutic interventions, life and social skills development.
You will look for new opportunities to inspire others, make connections and build relationships based on trust and respect.

We are looking for people who are able to work well with children and young people in a caring and responsible way.
You will need to have a full, clean, NZ driver’s licence and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
As this role works with children and young people you will need to be able to pass police vetting and safety checks (The Clean Slate Act does not apply).
