ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellingtonand has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a majoremployer in the Wellington region.
CCDHB operatestwo hospitals Wellington Regional Hospital inNewtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua as well as the Kapiti Health Centre atParaparaumu.
We also operate Te Korowai-Whāriki, alarge mental health campus based at Porirua.
CCDHB provides a range of specialistservices including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care and community-based services including district nursing,rehabilitation services, social work, alcohol and drug services, and homesupport services to a population of around 900,000 people.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent, part time (0.6FTE / 24 hours per week) role. We’re looking for an enthusiastic person who is able to motivate others and provide top notch allied health support to people living in the Kapiti, Porirua and Wellington area.
You will be based at Kenepuru Hospital and travelling from Kapiti through to the Wellington area.
The person in this role will be taking on activities delegated by Allied Health professionals and in particular Physiotherapists to deliver a programme designed to assist with in home stregth and balance for the older population.
You’ll be providing programmes to patients in their own homes, outpatients and other community settings in order to help the person maximise their ability to manage their health and impact of age and disability.
This will include the delivery and set up of equipment in people’s homes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for a person with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting people. You will need to be able to carefully follow instructions and provide clear and accurate feedback on how patient’s have presented.
The successful applicant will be busy, with a varied day, working across a range of settings and with various people, so a commitment to teamwork and a can do’ attitude are essential.
You will need great organisational ability and good written skills. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to gain a formal qualification as you will be supported to achieve the National Certificate in Health, Disability and Aged Support (Health Assistants Rehabilitation) if not already held.
