  • The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the lead agency for the social sector. We help the Government to set priorities across the sector, co-

    ordinate the actions of other social sector agencies and track changes in the social wellbeing of New Zealanders.

    We serve over a million people, working out of more than 250 centres around the country. It is likely that every New Zealander will come into contact with the Ministry at some point in their life.

    We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our Strategy and Change team within Service Delivery. This is a great role to get involved with different business groups, understand and identify their needs and lead solution focussed options.

    This is an exciting time to work in our new Service Delivery structure where you will either lead or be involved with complex work programmes and provide high quality advice on business issues.

    To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in the following areas :

  • Proven experience having worked in complex, corporate or government environments
  • Lead work programmes and be responsible for tracking and monitoring progress
  • End to end business analysis skills
  • Proven success in analysing complex issues and developing effective options for action
  • Assist in the business process or system design to ensure it matches business requirements
  • A strong results focus, contributing as part of major project teams including identification of risks, planning, team work and achieving targeted project outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a multi-disciplined environment
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proven experience in mentoring, coaching and empowering others in analysis skills
  • Experience in using the BABOK and Agile methodologies.
  • Certification in IIBA would be an advantage.
