This is a fixed term role for seventeen (17) months
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to lead and manage the next stage of the Department of Conservations response to the fungal plant disease Myrtle Rust.
The role will provide effective conservation contributions into the wider myrtle rust biosecurity programme being led by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
The successful applicant will ensure best practice management of myrtle rust for conservation land and lead other key workstreams the Department is contributing to the increased understanding and response of Myrtle Rust.
This work includes managing two staff, as well as co-ordinating work effort across the Department, to deliver on key workstreams such as the native myrtaceae seed collection, monitoring programmes and co-
ordinating the input of best practice science and technical information into operations activities.
This role is ideally suited to someone who has good project management experience, knowledge of biosecurity responses and is able to understand and translate technical information.
We are seeking to fill this role on either a fixed term contract or a secondment basis. For a secondment you will need the permission of your manager before you apply.
