Medical Officer- Te Whetu Tawera. Fixed Term, Full Time Role We require an experienced Medical Officer to join ADHB’s Acute Inpatient Unit Te Whetu Tawera (TWT).
TWT is the Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit for Auckland District Health Board, which serves the population of central Auckland.
It is a 58 bed unit which includes a 12 bed ICU. The Acute Inpatient Unit has a team of highly skilled Psychiatrists, Nurses and Allied Health staff providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with serious mental illness and severe psychological disorders.
They work in collaboration with the service user, their family / whanau and the community clinical teams to promote recovery.
We are based in a modern, purpose built facility, at the main Auckland City Hospital site, close to the Auckland University Medical School.
Our location also means we are next to the beautiful green Auckland City Domain, close to the scenic harbour and with immediate access that to all that central city Auckland has to offer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive medical officerwho has a specialist interest and experience in adult acute psychiatry.
You must be a medical practitioner registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (www.mcnz.org.nz), with at least two years relevant post registration experience and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
You’ll enjoy great support and equally impressive diversity in a busy and interesting clinical teaching environment. This is a Fixed Term full time position initially up until the end of December 2018 working 40 Hours per week.
