Experienced professional? Want a flexible part-time volunteer role that has purpose in a fun workplace, near good transport and where you’ll be valued?
Volunteer needed to help Oxfam in administering our health and safety processes!
At Oxfam, we’re ending the injustice of poverty. For everyone. For good.
We save lives in disasters, and help people rebuild their homes, communities and livelihoods afterwards. We also confront the complex problems and systems of power that keep people poor, like inequality, discrimination against women and climate change.
Oxfam New Zealand is a small independent NZ Charitable Trust that employs over 50 people and at times as many as 120 volunteers.
In order to ensure the H & S of staff is correctly prioritised and legislative compliance requirements are met, a small but important part-
time role has been established for a volunteer, with a professional background experienced in Health and Safety responsibilities.
Ideally, you will have experience of NZ Health and Safety Legislation, and how to translate that into practical solutions, checks and measures for the staff in our office, fundraising activities and events around NZ, and staff travelling overseas.
The role would be accountable to the Operations Director. The hours and days are flexible with up to 24 hours a month needed initially as the role is established.
It is expected that the volunteer will shape their work plan and lead on how best to prioritise the next steps in improving Oxfam’s H & S framework.
The role will have a desk and computer available at our office in Eden Terrace, however, we are open to work being undertaken from home where suitable.
Assistance with bus fares or mileage can be considered.
