As New Zealand’s ONLY Paediatric Intensive Care / High dependency unit (PICU) with 24 dedicated beds, we are proud to provide the unique opportunity for someone to join an exceptionally skilled team.
The opportunity to attain experience in a specialist unit and to benefit from on-going education (including a post-graduate certificate with the University of Auckland), makes PICU a satisfying and dynamic place to work.
The unit supports all inpatient medical and surgical services and provides care to children from around New Zealand who require respiratory support for more than 24 hours.
The chance to work with children requiring a variety of clinical supports including advanced ventilation support therapies also means that nurses in the team get to work with a variety of skill-
sets and disciplines to add to their career development.
