ABOUT THE ROLE
Health Care Assistant, The Bureau - Wellington or KenepuruHospitals
If you enjoy working in the health sector and assisting thosethat make a difference to people’s lives then Capital and Coast DHB may be the place for you.
As a Healthcare Assistant in our busy hospital, you will be redeployed to various areas in eitherWellington or Kenepuru hospitals on a as required basis where you will be ageneral support for our nursing and medical teams.
While assigned to an areayou may be responsible for assisting with patients under the supervision anddirection of a registered nurse assisting in Health Care assisted roles orundertaking observation and Engagement duties.
The type of applicants that will be considered will be thosethat are prepared to do rostered androtating shifts on a casual basis.
You will be relied upon by the team as someone who takes theinitiative on issues within your area of responsibility and scope of practice.
We are looking for switched on candidates with :
You will sometimes be working in a stressful environment, soyou will need to be able to respond appropriately and have a pleasant, flexibleand sensitive approach to the different cultural needs of people.
Ideally you are computer savvy, have a willingness to learnand demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
Any previous experience or education in ahealth environment would be an advantage.
