The Role

Our Design + Visualisation practice consists of Landscape Architects, Urban Designers and 3D Visualisation Specialists. We are a small dedicated team who are passionate about creating great places and delivering unique and sustainable designs to our clients.

It is an exciting time for us as we look to expand our practice and bring on an experienced Landscape Architect to lead our portfolio of design work and play a significant role in growing our industry presence.

This position is suited to someone looking to step into a new challenge, take ownership of the role and drive a variety of infrastructure, public realm, community use and social facilities projects throughout New Zealand.

As a lead member of the design practice, your responsibilities will include :

  • Providing input into the review of project design standards, philosophy and approach, while considering client requirements and expectations;
  • Financial management in consultation with the designated project director (or senior project manager);
  • Coordination of project resources (internal and external);
  • Coaching, influencing and mentoring junior staff to ensure the delivery of high quality and timely outcomes;
  • Developing client contacts and pursuing new business opportunities.

    About You

    You will be a motivated professional who has strong attention to detail. Well-developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills together with the ability to maintain productive working relationships at all levels are essential.

    Qualified to degree level in Landscape Architecture, or similar

    Registered Landscape Architect (NZILA)

    10+ years relevant experience

    Knowledge of contemporary design trends, techniques, materials and planting within the landscape profession in NZ

    Strong track record of trusted client relationships with a sound understanding of the NZ market is essential

    Proficiency in Adobe Suite and CAD draughting and 3D modelling packages such as AutoCAD and Sketchup, or capability to direct others in the delivery of outputs from these software packages

    Demonstrated skills in managing projects (or components of) and budgets to meet time and resource requirements

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate project teams and liaise effectively with staff and at all levels

    Exhibits commitment to team building and fostering positive studio morale

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Recently published or presented paper(s) in a relevant technical area would be highly regarded
